Welcome Piano! I know how you must be feeling. On average, it takes anywhere from 4 to 6 weeks for you to feel the full benefits of antidepressants. I had been prescribed Paxil many years ago and was told at that time that SSRIs start kicking in at between 6 to 8 weeks. Hang in there, it will get better.

Yes, I was feeling the most depressed in my life. Paxil helped to restore my balance and move on with life as normally as I could. Truthfully, after the Paxil kicked in I took time off from work to adjust because I felt like I was I was too carefree and on a cloud. Nothing was urgent. I let my psychiatrist know and requested another med that would keep me focused on the requirements in my life. It took some time after trying others until we found one that worked for me. Of course, we are all different and others do well where we may find difficulties. Please know that Paxil does work. Just wanted to share my own experience with this med. It sure does take time...and patience. Took like two months for my body to finally accept celexa.....many side effects for me. Klonapin helped me through the side effects. Family and support and faith for my strength. Hang in there....one it works sooner rather than later
