PAXIL hallucinations? 12 Years, 6 Months ago
Hello, so im new and I find this website to be extremely helpful I started suffering from anxiety and panic attacks about 3 months ago, Im on Paxil started at 12.5 last month and recently began 25mg ok so I have to say that I think it started working for me almost within 2 weeks not as long as I was told, however during the 4th week I started to experience hallucinations like im watching TV and some of the sounds I hear them a little exaggerated and sometimes I hear my husband calling me (babe) from the room hes sleeping in and thats the only thing I hear at times but only when there is something on such as the TV never when Im alone or when things are silent. THANK GOD, I also just read that anxiety may cause this too, so now Im not sure if its the PAXIL or the anxiety anyone experiencing this or similar? Please tell me it goes away

Stress causes our type of anxiety to do a lot of goofy things because it's disordered in the first place. Does it go away? Yes, but it may be replaced with other symptoms. The key is and you will learn in time is to keep your anxiety at as low of levels as you can. Upon reading the many many blogs and stories on here which I would recommend, you will see and hopefully try some until you find what works for YOU. That's what counts. It can be meds, CBT, relaxation tapes, breathing exercises, massages and on and on. when the anxiety leve is lower the symptoms go away automatically. Today I was reading a book when it was almost like another story was entering my head as I was following the story I was reading. Really weird. I realized I was just over tired and took a nap. It was an hallucination. I don't know what else it could have been. Take care.....Ed
