just took my 1st prozac pill 12 Years, 7 Months ago

I finally got prozac from my psychiatrist after denying it before and finally i got them! 10 Mg just took one about 5 minutes ago. And really i feel anxiety built and feel very nauseaus but i know that its not the pill cos i just took it. hopefully the side effects or my anxiety doesn't go thru the roof. Wish me luck!

I do wish you luck. If it makes you feel any better, I am taking 60mg of prozac per day. I pop them in my mouth all at once in the morning which the psychiatrist said was fine to do. It's also good that you know getting nauseus is the anxiety and not the prozac. Take care....Ed

Thanks for the encouragement, every bit counts
2nd day already and my anxiety goes up and down. best thing i do is just distract myself by doing something like watching tv or go online or clean around the room.

It takes a while to get used to new meds. I'm on Zoloft and the first few days I had to call out of work. I got no sleep and felt like throwing up. I've been on my full 50mg dose for about a week now and I feel fine most of the time. It feels good to feel 'normal' for once.
After almost 2 years of people off of Zoloft the attacks started again, that's why I went back on em.

i hope i become "normal" again like before when i could hangout with my friends and goto movies and do everything i used to. im taking 10mg for 5 days and then after that i have to take 20mg.on my 3rd day it was more anxiety but now its jst back down. its already the 5th day and i feel jst the same old anxiety when i was started with

When I was on prozac, it really really helped with GAD and eliminated my social anxiety. I did have some side effects but they lessened over time and I started to take the pill at night to deal with the tiredness I had. Everyone is different and with some time, alot of the side effects will likely go away. Good luck!! lamy
