Increased Zoloft, Slower Heart Beat? 12 Years, 11 Months ago
|

Hi guys I am new here but I have a question. My psychiatrist has just increased my zoloft from 50 mg to 75 mg. I have been on 75 mg for 10 days now and will be going up to 100 mg. Ever since I have started the 75 mg I have noticed that my resting pulse has to be at least 15-20 bpm slower than before, sometimes maybe even more. I know this could be due to me having less anxiety except I do not feel much of a decrease in anxiety yet. I have been so used to constantly hearing/feeling my pulse being rapid that it is almost as alarming to have a slower heartbeat. In the heat of anxiety I think that a slow heartbeat means something like my heart will stop as opposed to the usual tachycardia. It feels strange after a year of being so aware to not feel it and then when I check my pulse have it be so much slower. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this before?

Normally, the heart beats about 60 to 100 times per minute. If yours is slower than 60, you should call your doctor.
