Wonky Depression from meds 13 Years, 3 Months ago
Hi everyone,I was recently diagnosed with panic disorder Feb 25, 2010. Im currently taking Celexa, Buspar, and Trazodone. Im currently suffering with insomnia, a constant fatigue, and weird depression. I dont understand why i feel so bad, i know im lonely but it never felt this strong. The weird thing is, when its time to take the Celexa again in the evening, i feel better, happier, and more like me. Is the meds making my depression worse? The doc switched me to Lexapro yesterday because the side-effects were so bad with the Celexa. I was having horrible hot flashes.

Is the Doctor you're working with a psychiatrist? The meds are not making your depression worse if it's a psychiatrist who is doing the prescribing and knows you somewhat. If not, ask for a referral as you are on 3 meds which is fine(so am I) but a PCP is not qualified even though many do the prescribing. That said, you have to let the meds kick in to see if they are the right ones for you. It could take 4-6 weeks so you need to give it time. Keep telling the Doctor how you feel and how your moods are so adjustments can be made if necessary. Take care.....Ed

I am getting better, three days on Lexapro and moving it to morning has helped with the insomnia and the depression is lifting. I havent felt this good in weeks. The psychiatrist perscribed the meds. She doesnt know me that well but the panic attacks were so bad I stayed in a constant state of panic for two weeks. It was so painful from hard trembling and crying that I wasnt sleeping or eating. The meds are more for the panic from what she said. I may have some depression but that is more from the overwhelming panic, the recent break up, and dealing with having this new disorder. She doesnt want to diagnose depression until we've had several visits. The therapist feels the same as well.
