Ive just been giving a prescription for XANAX and im terrified of taking it. I only got 4 as my pshy only gave it to me to get on the plane this weekend. I hear wonders about this drug. I am currently on Trazadone and citalopram so i dont know why im scared to take it. can anyone whos taking it tell me what they think of it (xanax)?

I've taken xanax many times, .25 mg. I takes the edge off and then makes me extremely tired.

thanks honeyface. i still haven't taken one and since i only have four i think i'll wait till i get a major attack. i did hear from others as well that it makes you tired

It definitley helps with the anxiety/panic feelings. Sometimes I would get really tired from it and other times I just felt normal....like it was exactly the right dose for my anxiety level. lamy

I use Xanax for panic.

And if you do that, use it when you're panicking, you'll find that it works.

It doesn't make me tired. I only take .5 and it takes the edge off the panic and does nothing to my energy or stamina.

I always take one when I get on a plane.

Yesterday I was flying from Portland Oregon to Atlanta and then home to my town. Lots of weather issues. Some panic. I took one and did just fine. 12 hours worth of flying with all the delays and I was fine. Stayed up til we got home (at midnight) and then slept well.

Just follow the instructions. Do as your doctor says.

It really works if you work it as directed.

Well i took a pill yesterday morning. i wasn't having an attack just a little anxiety. my therapist told me on Saturday to take half the pill yesterday as I am so scared to take it like that I see nothing will happen if I take one. In other words she wanted me to take it while my bf was home so I wouldn't panic from being scared like that when i take it alone i know it will be ok. So it was great. I didn't get scared and i relaxed all day i only took half the pill though.
Ceejay i also have .5. I was only prescribed four pills so i won't take another one till i really need it. I will however talk to my pshy to presribe more to me not sure if he will. so now i have to think if i should get another pshyatrist if he doesn't prescribe. mind you i really like my psychiatrist but i think i really need them for those days.
