I had a terrible weekend and had not had an actual meal since Saturday afternoon, so I called off work and went to the doc's on Monday. My regular doc wasn't available so I saw someone I'll call Interrupting Doctor, since he would not allow me to finish a sentence! He gave me xanax (only 0.25), which seems to be doing its job OK but I'm still not eating much. I get edgy thinking about food which is ridiculous since I'm down to 89 lbs! Ack!
Anyway he also wants me to take remeron, which I am a little wary of. It's supposed to increase my apetite and help me gain some weight in addition to mellowing me out. I had horrible experiences five years ago with lexapro and zoloft, both of which caused extremely painful physical sensations of burning and also sheer terror after only 1 pill! When that happened, I spoke to a pharmacist who told me it was pretty obvious my body does not like antidepressants. So I haven't started taking the remeron yet. Even my mother agrees it might not be a good idea. I have a follow-up appointment with my usual doc in two weeks and plan on talking to him about it.

In the meantime, anyone else ever take remeron? If so, what were your experiences with it?
