Clorazepam

I went to my primary doctors today. He gave me 20mgs of celexa for me, because on friday I go up from 10mg to 20mg. He also discovered I have a sinus infection, my sinuses were like overly congested I guess so he gave me doxycycline to fight that off, or any other kind of bacterial infection I might have. He also gave me .5mg of clorazepam. I went most of the day without taking it, but my heart started racing and I got all sweaty and hot and I felt myself beginning to freak out so I took it.

Has anyone taking clorazepam ever had a sensation of like, burning skin or anything? I am just curious. It could very well be from the doxycycline, but I was just curious if anyone has ever had that. Also, it doesn't seem like its working too much. I mean, its fine when I am sitting down and doing something like typing this blog post or watching tv, but when I lay down and try to drift off to sleep i still feel that whole OMG IM GUNNA HAVE A HEART ATTACK feeling as my heart pounds. Does it not work well right away when starting it? or is it something that takes a couple doses to work correctly effectively?

The clonazepam should work within an 30 - 45 mins, and it does not need to be taken for several doses before working. Don't lose hope though, clonazepam provides relief for many people, your doctor may just need to increase your dose. In the mean time it sounds like it is helping a bit, I hope you are feeling better soon! As far as the burning skin, doxycyline will make your skin more sensitive to sunlight, if you've been outside at all after taking it you may have just gotten a little sunburn.

I hope this helps I am new to this blog thing, but I am a pharmacy student and couldn't read your post without giving some feedback. Again, I hope you feel better soon. I always try to just keep my mind off of the anxiety by playing video games or surfing the web until it passes.

hi, Clonazepam (Klonopin) never worked very well for me; and mfucillo is right, it would take 30-45 minutes for me to see an improvement. YMMV of course, as everyone reacts differently and Klonopin is generally rated as an effective anti-panic med. You may want to take 1mg. of Clonazepam an hour before going to bed as a preventative, instead of taking it after you start experiencing panic symptoms (this was suggested to me by a Dr.). hugs!
