I haven't been feeling well now since the day after Christmas. I went running on Christmas morning. The day after, I felt horrible. I believe I pulled a muscle, or strained something in my lower abdomen. This continued on for weeks... and then a rib joint at my sternum started popping. Yes, popping like a knuckle would. This happened a couple of weeks ago, 4 times in one day! The pain was so intense it made me cry. I'm a 33 year old guy that used to run, swim, bike, and lift weights 5-6 times a week. Over the past 3 weeks, I haven't been able to go. It's so depressing, and I feel like everything I trained for is going away. I'm losing my fitness, and getting a gut again. Not good - as I am supposed to be getting married to my lovely fiancee in June. I wanted to be in the best shape possible, but feel that I may have pushed myself too hard, and have really injured myself. Both the abdominal pain, and chest pain / popping continue.
So, 2 weeks ago, my fiancee was driving me to an ortho appointment about 20 minutes away. I felt so sick, that I wasn't sure I was going to make it. Every time she hit a pot hole, or bump in the road, I was in so much pain! We got there, and I went to get out of the car. Everything in my vision started to get fuzzy for a bit, and then I had intense chest pains and difficulty breathing. Luckily, we were literally steps from the ER, as the ortho doctor's office was right next door. I went in, and spent the next 6 hours there! The ER took X-rays, did EKG's, CT Scans, blood tests, etc... and everything came back fine. Why do I feel so bad then? No one could explain. They gave me pain medicine, and sent me on my way.
Next day, I started feeling better. Every Sunday we go to brunch. So, we get up and go to one of my favorite places that we hadn't been to in a while. Brunch was great. That was one of the last enjoyable moments I've had. After this we went to the grocery store to pick up items for the week. I went to the restroom and came back to where my fiancee was. I was so light headed on the way back, I was afraid that I was going to pass out in the middle of the store. I remember walking past all the wine bottles, and thinking to my self - walk straight, don't fall into that shelf. I barely made it back to the cart, and asked for the car keys since I wasn't feeling well. Once I got back to the car, I sat there for a while in the passenger seat. I started feeling my hands go numb. I thought I must be having a heart attack. I sent my fiancee a text, and she came back after a few minutes. She began driving me there. I literally thought I was dying. She asked if she should call an ambulance, and I said yes... but by then we were only a mile away. I told her to drive quicker, and asked her to even run a red light by the hospital. Get there, and we go through all the same drills again. No such luck... they send me on my way, and wrote it off to extreme pain. They told me take the pain medicine.
