Yes, go you.

My stomach has been killing me because of real medical issue I'm going through, I even took half a Xanax yesterday (doctors appointment coming up) and I rarely take Xanax except for agoraphobia things any more.
Then I remembered 50% off pizza sale that ends today. I was sure I was going to panic from being too full but once I got over worrying about the second piece having a full belly actually had me feeling better than I've felt in weeks.

As far as the germ thing. I preserve foods and make beer/wine, plus I'm a slob. You're pretty safe as long as everything is clean of food particles. Germs may fall on a clean counter but they lay dormant if there's nothing to feed on.

At times the desire not to eat is a side effect of the meds, especially if they (the meds) are giving you trouble.

Also the micromanaging of foodstuffs (plates and germs etc.) might be you trying to stay in control of a behavior because it feels like you have lost control of another behavior. I think its all part of the anxiety whirlpool. I am sure we all have compensation techniques like that. I think this is a place where meds and therapy really help

Just being told the "facts" wasn't always enough to change my actions pr lessen my anxiety as I already knew them but still felt the way I felt.

Myk, i/2 price pizza Yum! Glad you enjoyed it and glad you felt decent afterwards.

Making beer and wine must be pretty cool.

I have found if I talk sense to myself enough I can drown out the negative. I've even used a recording loop in earphones to reset my thoughts.

Getting back into homebrewing was a big step for me. I won't drink when I'm panicking in case I need to take a Xanax.

I mean't to edit that. There were times for me that facts worked, and times it didn't. (so I can't say never) I am glad you have the wherewithal to do that. Many people sadly don't.

I would say the brewing process would be a good way to keep your mind out of the anxiety cycle as well as ending up with something tasty!
