So happy to see your post! Congratulations on your
marriage and new job!!!! You have indeed been doing
very well---you know you are my hero and always will
be. Try not to worry too much about being alone at
night ( that's called "anticipatory anxiety"--a case
of the "What if's?") and is normal for most people,
just the anxiety level goes up for us that have more
of a problem with anxiety. Line up some "safe"
people that you can call if you feel your anxiety level
getting out of hand. Even if you never call, just
knowing you can helps a lot. And you know you can
always come to PS and we are here for you. Again,
congratulations!!!! Mary Lou - Anxious Lady

Hi TexReb, I've also thought of you from time to time and happy to read that during your absence, you and life have gotten along well. To catch up with your news . . . congratulations on your marriage and new job, for Jody's graduation and new job and HAPPY 31st BIRTHDAY!

As Norelle and Ed said, plan for the time that you'll be alone. It shouldn't be too long, right? Part of that time, hopefully, will be spent sleeping. You've got 2-1/2 weeks to plan your strategy. You've got your dogs and if it gets hairy, come to PS and blog about it.

I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers. You've overcome so much so I know you'll overcome this too . . . hugs

Congrats on your marriage and your new job. Remember that with our anxiety disorder we can sometimes get worked up in our subconscious. Those two big changes may be as much responsible for your current anxiety as staying at home alone at night. Took awhile to catch up is my guess.. Once your wife starts the job that will be a bridge you will have crossed and there will be no more buildup for that part of it. Just go one day at a time and practice all the little things that work for you such as the breathing techniques, etc. And in reality your not alone. Three dogs is a lot of company and they never give you a hard time. lol. Hang in there. Take care.....Ed - Irish

Congratulations on your marriage and your new job!!! I have been thinking about you a lot recently so I am very glad you wrote and let us know what has been happening. You have come so far, I know you will work through the being alone at night. Since you have weeks to work on it, maybe you can sit down and come up with some ideas of what you will do to cope if you do feel anxiety coming. I know if I make a plan ahead of time it is much easier for me to cope if something does come up. Most of the time, nothing does happen - but having that plan sure keeps the anticipatory anxiety at bay. All My Best, Norell - inspired
