Hi, SandyMarie. I would start with the book of John. And then read Galatians. Then 1, 2, and 3 John (they're short books).I almost always pray before reading the Bible, asking God to help me understand what I'm reading. I use the New International Version because I find it easier to read and understand. You can go online to www.biblegateway.com and compare versions there. They also have one-year-Bible-reading plan should you desire to start that. - 4Him
