First attack about 30 years ago, landed me in ER for two days. Old doctor diagnosis was a prolapsed mitral valve in heart, wrong! Finally 5 years later some gave me a zanax, first time I had ever felt normal for years. Got prescription .5 twice a day. Before that time I would have 3 to 5 attacks a day. After I started meds I had about two attacks a week. Continued medicating same dose for twenty five years then another doctor put me on Paxil but cold turkey on zanax, bad news three trips to ER, back to Zanax. A month ago a doctor cut the Zanx in half and prescribed 20 mg of Citalopram. OK until recently now I' having severe attacks about twice a day. 5:30 am woke up with bad attack, took 1 mg zanax and starting to calm down. Doctors say just talk your self out of it, apparently they have no idea what we are dealing with. In the beginning the attacks started to restrict my travels and confine me to a fairly narrow radius from my house, eventually I worked through that only if I was in possession the my meds. I just found this site and thought I would give a try because I know that you are the only ones that truly understand the hell we go through. Thank you
