Trying Not to Have a Stroke

So i am currently both a little numb and tingling from head to foot. My wife just got a letter from her boss letting her know that, due to her recent unscheduled absences she has been terminated. Now, she's in a very good union and there are about 50 things about this that just aren't right, so we're as near to positive as it's possible to be without being a god of some sort that they can NOT fire her like this. They have completely disregarded the rules of her contract, so almost definitely she will still have a job.

This doesn't stop me from feeling totally freaked out, however. I am, as my pal and co-worker would say trippin'. Our financial situation, while good overall, is not at its rosiest and most robust just now, so even if she gets retroactive pay with sprinkles on top once she is reinstated, it could cause all kinds of extremely unhappiness right now. Unhappiness with sprinkles of rabbit poo on top, if you like.

I'm just... i don't even know where to go from here. I'll have to continue when i've calmed down a bit. wonder if i have any xanax on hand...

Hey BC -- This sounds just terrible, terrible and unfair. I'm REALLY glad she has a union behind her.

Remember to stick to basics - breathe, eat, walk, sleep. If you can focus on just one of these at a time then do that.

All you have to do is get through one day. The next day will present itself in its own time and then you deal with it - not before.

You are in a position here to be a good sounding board and rock-like support. But to do that you gotta breathe, eat, walk and sleep! (Not necessarily in that order -- breathe a lot!)

Crap flies at us at lightning speed sometimes but we can get through it.
Following the basics.

(Think of that cheesy airline video - put on your own oxygen mask before helping others) So you take good care of you, and that will let you (and the cats and dogs) take care of her!!!

Keep us posted - we love you!!!

Thanks, as always, Cindy. You're a wonderful person to be able to lean on. I have calmed down considerably, though at this point most everything is still up in the air. I know we'll be fine eventually, but between now and then could be rough.

Hi BC -- so how're things going? I've been keeping you guys in my thoughts and prayers and hoping for the best!

Thought about you while I was in Canada - enjoying myself immensely in Niagra-on-the-Lake and Stratford and Sudbury! We had a marvelous time.

Then spent a week in the UP. Wonderful!

But, I hope you two are shoring up and feeling okay about whatever changes are happening -- it is no easy thing to weather changes with Anxiety and Panic lurking in the wings.

Keep in touch, ok??

Hugs!!!
