I decided to finally bite the dust and look for work. After half a year of not doing paid work I realised that the only way I was going to be able to pay any of my bills was to get off my arse and do something about it myself. And having felt that the months long break had been ample for me to regain my sense of self, and having not had huge anxiety during this time, I felt it was time to once again challenge myself and see where I stood where anxiety was concerned. I didn’t tell anyone about my anxiety, and it didn’t matter, it was something in the past. So I signed up with a temp agency to do administration work, and I started my first job last week, and would you believe I am working in a department where I used to see a psychologist back when I had my PA. It’s like my sneaky little secret that makes me giggle. If anything it has given me an empathy for patients that come through even though no one knows my own history – unless they go and look me up and with patient confidentiality and all that, they wouldn’t dare. If anyone were to find me out, I could just use myself as an example of their excellent methods or something. xx

... Shazz--- that is awesome!!! I love how you are always able to talk with yourself and make sense of your situation!! You rock! What a cool thing to be able to go to a temp agency, and get in the flow. I think you're meant to be at that department to help yourself really see how FULL CIRCLE you've come!! Who would have imagined, back in the grip of PA that one day you would be working there -- after a 6 month break to pursue your own writing and just living??!! Amazing, isn't it!? Thanks so much for sharing - you really are inspirational! HUGS! |
