She sits, legs crossed. Not knowing where her sweat stops and the water starts. Shivering, but not cold. The house is still. She watches the ripples in the water with every heart beat. She can’t move, can’t breath. Repeating over and over “It’s o.k. your o.k.” She is not o.k. The walls are closing in. She feels claustrophobic. How much time has passed? 10 minutes? 30 minutes? 1 hour? Time has stopped yet is flying by. She is paralyzed, terrified. The water is getting cold. It is getting late. “Get up!!! Get out!!!” Why is this happening? What did she do wrong? Why is she being punished? Exhausted she raises to her feet, dripping sweat and water. Shivering as the air hits her body. There is no escaping this, no escaping herself. Defeated again, she leaves the bathroom.
