Well, to tell you the truth, I'm a bit of an imposter here. I'm a medical student and I'm writing an essay on generalised anxiety disorder and I guess I just wanted to learn about anxiety from the people who actually experience it.

Anyway, this network seems amazing anyway and it looks like a lot of people get and give some really valuable support. I'm really glad I found this place. I'd just like to give an open invitation, if anyone would like to help me with this by telling me about what anxiety is like for you, how it affects your life, what makes it better or worse, I think it would help me to understand a lot more than reading a textbook. It doesn't have to be GAD, feel free to tell me about panic disorder or phobias too.

 Thanks xxx

Hi Squirefly -

You can go back through the forums and see all the posts that people have made -- I think they've shared a lot of their feelings and thoughts on how Panic and Anxiety is for them.

There is a lot to learn. I think if I had one thing I'd like a young medical student to get ahold of is this: listen to your patient. Really listen. To them. Right then.

I can always tell -- and it makes a HUGE difference in my recovery!

I think you can get a lot out of clicking on people profiles and clicking the tab all the way to the right that says blogs, it is personal things that people have written about their feelings on anxiety. A bunch of people have "their story" on there. That is a good way to see how some people feel. With me, I have one and if you were to look at mine, personally, you can see mostly how mine developed throughout my whole life. I've tried to trace it back to as far as I can remember. I too am a psychology student and will be going to grad school soon for social work. Feel free to pm me if you would like any other information as well.
