hi everyone my daughter is going to the prom with real nice guy for once and im am really scared about it. its a hour away at a hotel and i know what goes on at prom i know what i did know it is different because im a mom.there are going to be cops there im not used to her haveing a nice guy. help my other daughter knows how to push my buttoms with my anxiety. how do i controll her she is bigger then me

... Your little girl is growing up. It is a good thing that she has a nice guy. The kids will be supervised. Try not to worry it sounds like she is a smart girl. ;) |

... Hi Kels! There are some really helpful web pages on 'Family house rules' for children of different age groups. I printed off a heap and made up our own set and used them here. Set up a family meeting and discuss rules, rewards and consequences of inappropriate behaiour. Get feedback from your daughters too. It can be a positive thing to discuss your expectations and theirs. When you read what other families and parenting organisations have decided upon as house rules too, it gives you confidence to enforce your rules. Kids would have us believe that we have it all wrong! You don't! You love them and want them safe but independent. Good luck Kels! Leah xxx |
