What a week....

When we last saw our heroine, she was just returning from a weekend in Myrtle Beach....

The boys went to school on Monday while I ran around, getting packed, tying up loose ends.  We flew out on Tuesday morning - 3 flights...Fayetteville to Atlanta was fine.  Atlanta to Salt Lake was delayed...including 45 minutes on the tarmac-not a flutter of panic.  We had to run through SLC to get to our connections, which we missed by 5 minutes.  Deep breath, got us on the next flight, called the fam in CA, looked like we still had time to make it to the viewing.

Flight from SLC to Burbank was uneventful.  My boys were awesome.  My sister and husband were there to pick us up....but ....no luggage!  It was still in SLC.  So we make it to the viewing with minutes to spare, in our 'traveling clothes'.  But of course, no one cared.

Luggage was delivered at 2 am.  The funeral was very beautiful.  My sister and I had to do the readings - we were both so nervous!  And my Dad did the eulogy - all three of us were afraid that the ER was our next stopTongue out.

The graveside was so moving - he was buried with military honors.  That was hard to watch - lots of boo hooing!

On Friday, we went down to visit Grandma...and I had to drive around a totally unfamiliar area.  But I did fine.

Saturday we flew home...the security line was a little long, but I did fine.  Flight from Burbank to Phoenix was fine.  Phoenix to Charlotte left a little late, this one would be a tight connection.  And it was the last flight for the evening.  We landed in time, but then sat on the tarmac for about 20 minutes.  So we  had 10 minutes to get from the end of concourse C to the end of concourse E.  I told the boys to run- and we did.  Then I tripped and fell!SurprisedSplat - completely on the ground.  I popped up and kept running.  Luckily as we got to the E concourse, there was one of those carts that was taking another group the same way.   We were the last ones on the plane!Cool

Made it back here no problems...even with our luggage!!!

I am so proud of me...there were so many things that would have sent me over the edge 6 months ago.

What style! What pazzaz! What a truly remarkable woman!
Proud of yourself - I hope you are still grinning from ear to ear :grin
Not meaning to make light of either the loss of your Grandpa or what your hubby is doing, but you have fought some battles yourself the last year and come through with flying colours.
You are a true inspiration (and I wish I'd been there with a camera when you went arse over.... :zzz )xxxx
