(Second part) I am a survivor from panic attack. I have experienced the
worst of it (at least for me, it’s the worst days of my life). I can still
remember what my psychiatrist told me, "Leave your place, and go seek your
future in another place. Only when you detach from this place which give you
too much memories of your mom and dad that you can start to live your life
again. When you are there, start to fight the devil that makes you suffer (This
is the things I am afraid to see... Sick people, injured victim, blood, dying,
vehicular accident, even people I know who are ok but have hypertension or
heart problem is more than enough to trigger my attack.
When I reach Manila, I still have
relapse. But I do have medication with me so it’s ok. My first work was as a
treatment officer in an ambulance service. I was assigned in the South Luzon
Expressway, dealing and responding with Vehicular accident. Hahahaha!!!! It’s
just so great that when I respond to my first vehicular accident, I just start
to be numb and can't breathe. My Team Leader, Arriane was shouting at me.
"Do something, help me with the victims." And that was it, my baptism
with fire. I start to work, doing the job in a perfect sequence, focusing my
energy towards the victims and the on - going traffic, stopping all the fast
approaching vehicle n the expressway. Of course with back up from the
Expressway Traffic Management Personnel. Doing the radio control with the
emergency department hospital where are going to endorsed the injured victims.
I was a day of a rush. And I didn't have the attack. I survived the first fight
with the devil within me.
And now, guess where I’m working? In the Middle East;
in south rub al kali, the vast quarter of emptiness in the Kingdom
of Saudi Arabia. The nearest town
is 350 km. And I'm maintaining an emergency clinic in oil and gas exploration
crew composed of more or less, 700 personnel. I still have the unwanted visitor
with me every now and then but it is obviously tamed.
I wish and pray to hear people that they too have survived the crisis.
Not for a 100% but a least you have tamed the devil.
