One year since things got BAD
(Wednesday, 19 March 2008) Written by earthmama

A year ago this week is when things got really bad for me.

Things had been building for a while, but that week, it was like a switch was flipped and the  anxiety and depression oozed over me, tainting everything I did.

A year later, all the things I feared have come to pass...and they are not so bad.  We are back in a city that I was very unhappy in, and I am happy.  I love my house, my friends and my kids are happy as well.

My husband is deployed.  6 months so far.  It has been difficult, but not unbearable.  He is coming home next month for R&R, and we can hardly wait.

I am going out by myself, but I have also found ways to go shopping with friends.

I was such a mess during the time leading up to his deployment, I am excited to show him that I am back to my old self (well, closer to my old self!)

My dad is doing much better.  My grandpa is still in the hospital.  Life goes on...

:zzz You'll soon be counting the days not weeks. Time passed. You have done soooo well! I hope your hubby is proud of you - you've shown amazing courage and strength. You've certainly inspired me to dig deep and keep going at times. Thank you.

Earthmama -

It's been so great to share this time with you! You're really an inspiration and a joy!

I remember when you came on to the site and your husband's deployment was looming and there was so much fear!!

Now you have done so many amazing things - like flying across the country, and putting up basketball goals, and all the daily things it takes to run a family!! And you have had the constant worry about your hubby, then your dad -- you've done an amazing job!!!

I hope that being able to write and talk and share about your anxiety has helped relieve some of the pressure!

I also hope that the thoughts and prayers of so many on here have helped you feel supported, and that you are NOT alone!!

I hope you continue to have a great week -- and of course I hope that you keep posting!!!

HUGS!!!
